My school trip to Scotland.

First day, we met at 9 am in Chimay. When everybody was there, we could begin the trip in the bus. The first pause was at a motorway near Antwerp (Anvers in English). In the afternoon, at 4pm exactly, we went on board of the King of Scandinavia in Amsterdam. The boat was big and luxurious; on board we slipped like a log and ate very well. There was a cinema, some bars, two different bands, and of course the best, the sea!

After eating a light breakfast, we arrived to Newcastle. There we again had to travel quite a distance to arrive to the capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh. A friendly woman was our guide and guided us around the city. First we went to the New Town and saw a lot of building of Georgian architecture. Some streets were very important like Princes Street, Queen Street and George Street. After a few hours, we began another visit, the visit of the Old Town. There we walked the Royal Mile, this street joins up the Edinburgh Castel to the Holy rood house and the Scottish Parliament. And between us there were a lot of mysterious wynds. The first day was nearly finished when we arrived to our inn “The Spittal of Glenshee” a pretty place to sleep and to admire the mountains. There we ate at a self-service restaurant and I took a turkey with potatoes.

The second day, we went to a pretty town called Pitlochry to visit a distillery of single malt whisky. After a light eating, we went to a castel, Blair Castel where we saw a lot of expensive collections of furniture, porcelain, embroidery … Something was extremely unusual, they had their own private army, the Atholl Highlanders. This castle was wonderful!

The next to last day was slower, we went to Jedburgh. There, my boyfriend and I ate some haggis and spoke a few time with the waiter a little bit. When the time was up, we came back to the car and went to Newcastle to take the boat. In the evening, everybody saddle over a drink to dance.

The last day was only in the bus; we were tired and sad to come back to Belgium.
